Under the direction of the Laboratory/Radiology Director and Coordinator or Laboratory Supervisor perform various laboratory and radiology functions as per mandated regulations such as clinical testing, microscopic, serologic, hematologic, parasitic and bacteriologic testing as well as a radiological bone procedure for the use treatment diagnosis of disease. Responsible for obtaining quality digital images for review by the Radiologist and archiving of digital images. Responsible for receiving specimens in the laboratory and obtaining body material. Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Must be able to identify and categorize each patient’s age-specific grouping of need, such as those for infant, adolescent or geriatric patients. Responsible for compliance with other requirements affecting the United Medical Centers, such as State/Federal regulations, TJC standard, HRSA, DSHS and compliance/Performance standards, and regulations.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an approved program in medical technology and in radiology technology preferred. Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Technologist preferred. MT/MLT preferred.
