JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision and direction of the Assistant Chief Financial Officer is responsible for assisting in the overall operations of the Fiscal/Accounting Department including, but not limited to posting automated accounts receivable journal accounts payable journal and payroll functions to the general ledger. Responsible for assisting in monitoring bookkeeping activities including, but not limited to recording of reimbursements, expenses, and revenues. Assists in preparing and reviewing financial statements, monthly reports, and other departmental financial reports as required. Assists in supervising the payroll administration function and the accounts payable function. Assists in the implementation of financial policies and procedures and other internal controls to provide for the control and safeguard of the Medical Center assets. Trains and assists accounting staff on all software systems. Serves as a liaison for the Human Resources Department. Responsible for compliance with other requirements affecting the Medical Center, such as State/Federal regulations, PCMH, DHHS, HRSA Compliance Standards.
EDUCATION REQUIRED/ EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Graduate from an accredited school of Business Administration with a degree in accounting. Minimum of one to two years experience in accounting preferably in a healthcare environment. Strong computer background with knowledge of accounting software (preferred Blackbaud). Knowledge and experience in reimbursement, internal audit, budgeting, financial analysis and management information systems. Knowledge with grant budge preparation.
