Under the supervision and direction of the charge nurse and medical providers. The CMA will be providing patient care in the area(s) assigned by established philosophy, policies, and procedures. Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan. Must be able to identify and categorize each patient’s age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for infants, adolescents, or geriatrics.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate from an accredited vocational training program for medical assistants. Certification or registration as Medical Assistant is required.
1. Must have current CPR certification.
2. Prior experience in all areas of nursing is preferred.
3. Prior experience community-sponsored health education programs preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Ability to communicate proficiently with individuals of diverse backgrounds and economic levels. Must be able to be certified as a noncertified radiology technician as required by the position.
