UMC provides care to more than 34,184 people who live in and around Eagle Pass, Del Rio, and Brackettville, Texas. UMC meets the health care needs of children, pregnant women, as well as
working families, patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, and many other patients who have difficulty finding access to health care.
Some of UMC's patients have public insurance such as Medicare, Medicaid or CHIP, but are unable to find a primary care doctor who will see them. A high percent are uninsured or under-insured.
Most of the uninsured are hardworking families that simply can’t afford insurance coverage. Through UMC, these families can obtain comprehensive healthcare services that
improve their lives and reduce the overall cost burden of the entire healthcare system.
