Family Medicine

Internal Medicine

United Medical Centers General Internal Medicine offers a comprehensive program of disease prevention and health promotion. Our internal medicine physicians provide a full range of care for adolescents and adults.

We provide adult patients with the following services:

  • Periodic health examinations
  • Hypertension screening
  • Hyperlipidemia screening
  • Diabetes screening & management
  • Adult immunizations
  • Other common treatable illnesses

Laboratory

Laboratory Services at United Medical Centers provides accurate, informative, cost-effective testing. Our experienced team offers a full range of testing in hematology, chemistry, immunology, serology and urinalysis using high tech instrumentation. Laboratory services, in combination with the provider visit, create a continuum of primary health care for our patients. Our ability to provide our patients with on-site testing gives our providers the necessary medical information for a rapid and accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

The laboratory strives to provide excellent services to our patients and our providers. UMC's technical staff consists of certified medical technologist and laboratory technicians.

Pediatrics

At United Medical Centers we believe that no child should be without health care and that every child is a priority. Our dedicated, board certified Pediatricians and medical staff provide a wide range of medical services from preventive care and physical exams to chronic illness management.

We offer children the following services in our Pediatric program:

  • Immunizations
  • Well-Child Visits
  • School Physicals
  • Complete Physical Exams, including vision and hearing screening
  • Laboratory Services
  • Health Education

Pharmacy

United Medical Centers is proud to have an active pharmacy program, with a staff of pharmacists and pharmacy techs working hard to bring effective and affordable medications to our patients. UMC is an active participant in Pfizer’s Share the Care Program, Astrazeneca, and other prescription assistance programs. These programs enable us to deliver lower cost medications to UMC’s increasing patient population.

Other services provided by our Pharmacy staff include pharmaceutical counseling, drug information/education, and a wide selection of pharmaceuticals (brand and generic) at competitive prices.

By filling your prescriptions with our Pharmacy, you will be supporting the mission and vision of our health center to deliver the highest degree of quality medical care to our patients. Our pharmacy offers a full range of medications for all UMC patients.

Podiatry

United Medical Centers Podiatry service combines the one-on-one, personalized treatment our patients have come to expect from our providers.

Our podiatry scope of services includes:

  • Identifying the high risk diabetic foot with annual comprehensive diabetic foot exams
  • Reducing the risk of lower extremity amputation through education and diabetic footwear
  • Debridement of painful nails, corns and calluses
  • Treatment for minor trauma including sprains and strains, heel pain, and musculoskeletal deformities such as bunions and hammertoes
  • Treatment for painful ingrown or infected nails, other nail and skin infections such as warts and athlete's foot

Radiology

The Radiology Department at United Medical Centers is dedicated to providing the highest quality care our patients deserve. With new and advanced computerized imaging, our staff is able to acquire precise and detailed X-Ray images for a more accurate diagnosis. Our facility is equipped to handle all forms of standard exams, excluding MRI and CT. Our exams are read by Board certified Radiologists with a turn around time of less than 24 hours.

We have two locations that serve our communities in Eagle Pass and Del Rio.
