Clinical EHR Specialist

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, RN, this position works closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Information Officer and the IS Dept staff. This position is responsible for developing and delivering direct training to UMC support staff and clinical staff, including Providers, utilizing United Medical Centers’ clinical/EHR systems during the implementation projects and on an on-going basis in the production environment. This position requires attending vendor training, achieving and maintaining competency on designated EHR modules, participating in the build phase of the implementation project, and providing direct user training as assigned. Additionally, the Clinical EHR Specialist is accountable for development and delivery of any/all of the following: training for all clinical/EHR system implementation projects (any modules any sites); Clinical/EHR systems training for new employees on an on-going basis post implementation; Training programs covering clinical/EHR system version upgrades; New training initiatives for clinical/EHR system optimization; Training to support clinical/EHR system related process change; Affiliated Physician training on clinical/EHR systems. Staff LVN duties as assigned. Responsible for compliance with other requirements affecting United Medical Center, such as State/Federal regulations, PCMH standards, and Compliance Standards

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Current license to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas. Minimum of 3 years of experience with increasing responsibilities in clinical environment for management and support in direct patient care operation is preferred. Significant experience in a health care setting is desirable. Specific experience with clinical management information systems preferred. Current driver’s license and access to reliable transportation; ability and willingness to travel when necessary.
