JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Health Records Supervisor is responsible for all activities in the assigned clinic for answering a multiple line phone system and transferring calls to the appropriate departments. Ensures compliance with language, tone, and maintains confidentiality according to standards and HIPAA guidelines. Responsible for compliance with other requirements impacting United Medical Centers such as State/Federal regulations, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA), Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH), The Joint Commission (TJC), Accountable Care Organization (ACO), Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), Optimizing Comprehensive Clinical Care (OC3), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Meaningful Use, Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Standards, and Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance (QI/QA) and Americans with Disabilities Acts (ADA) Requirements.
EDUCATION
Must have high school graduate or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
Must have at least 1-year experience in the Health Record or related field. Computer experience in several program required. Ability to type 40 wpm. Filing experience required. Familiar with medical terminology preferred. General knowledge of clerical duties. Good communication skills.
