Job Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of the Dental Director is responsible and acts as a contact person for the planning, organizing, and coordination of United Medical Centers, Dental Department services, to ensure a smooth and efficient operation to meet the needs of all UMC customers. The office manager is responsible for overseeing the overall Business Office functions such as billing, accounts receivable, cash receipts system, refunds, and credit adjustment to patient accounts, coding standards, reimbursement regulations, and patient statements. They are the contact person for 3rd party/contracted providers or entities. The office manager is also responsible for recommending policies and procedures impacting the dental department operations to the Dental Director and with the appropriate committees following approved protocols. The office manager will assist in the development of a management report to measure department efficiency and comply with funding sources. They will Ensure that UMC’s mission, goals, and objectives are accomplished per prescribed priorities, time limitations, and funding conditions in conjunction with other management staff. Responsible for ensuring compliance with other requirements impacting United Medical Centers such as State/Federal regulations, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA), Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH), The Joint Commission (TJC), Accountable Care Organization (ACO), Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), Optimizing Comprehensive Clinical Care (OC3), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Meaningful Use, Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Standards, Quality Improvement, and Quality Assurance (QI/QA), and Americans with Disabilities Acts (ADA) Requirement.

Education:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an approved Dental Assistant program.
  • Certification by the Dental Assisting National Board.

Experience/Training:

  • Experience in Dental Practice Operations and Dental Software Systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and motivation skills as well as the ability to supervise others
  • Excellent computer skills for email correspondence, financial transactions, and scheduling appointments
  • Efficient multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Maturity, tact, integrity, and respect for patient confidentiality
